Information you provide

Vehicle enquiries and stock-update forms ask for contact details and the information you choose to include. The stock-update form asks for your name and email address, with dealership and phone details optional. Account registration asks for an email address, password, name, phone number and country. Account, bidding and transaction records may be created when you use those services.

These details are used to respond to your request, manage registration and account access, and administer the services you use. Fields marked as required are needed for the relevant request. Please avoid including identity documents, banking details or other sensitive information in a general enquiry.

Stock updates

The stock-update form has a separate, initially unchecked email consent choice. Signing up for stock updates is separate from bidder registration. You can withdraw from stock-update emails by replying to an update or emailing stock@motobid.co.za. Account and service messages are separate from marketing preferences.

Cookies and your choices

Essential cookies support sign-in, forms and saving your privacy choice. Optional Statistics and Marketing choices are off initially. Use Preferences, Reject or Accept All in the cookie banner. After making a choice, the Cookie Preferences button lets you change it. Your choice is saved for 30 days; clearing your browser data may make the banner appear again.

Website hosting, account administration, security and email delivery involve the providers used to operate this website. Authorised staff can access information needed to handle requests and administer accounts. Relevant providers may process information outside South Africa.

Choosing an Enquire on WhatsApp link opens WhatsApp with a prepared vehicle enquiry. You decide whether to send it. WhatsApp and other external websites have their own privacy policies. Optional Google services are described above; Google’s policy explains its handling of information.

Records and retention

Retention depends on the record type, the service requested, account activity, and applicable legal, dispute and security requirements. Contact us for information about the records held in your case and their retention. Changing cookie choices does not erase account, enquiry or transaction records, or information already received by a third-party provider.

Your information requests

You can contact us to request access to or correction of your personal information, ask about deletion, or object to processing where applicable. We may need to verify that the request is yours. Deletion can be limited where records must be kept for legal, transaction or security reasons. Do not send a password with your request.
